Home is...

...where the heart is - and we are Home Sweet Home in Mexico once again! Hot, familiar, sunny, hot, friendly, cloudless, hot, beloved Mexico! Did I mention it's hot? =) We had a wonderful time visiting with family and friends up in Canada, as well as some friends in the US, but it's great to be back where we belong!

I had great plans to post pictures today, but instead conquered almost all my mountains of things to do, so I will be satisfied with that instead.

We arrived home in good time on Friday - about 4pm or so, and got lots accomplished that evening. Dear friends cleaned inside and outside for us before we got here, and we are so thankful! The cats weren't quite sure what to think when our troup landed, since they've had peace and quiet here for a month, but I think they're enjoying having company again. Our mental clocks are a bit messed up with the 3 hour time change, but I think we're slowly but surely getting back to "normal"! It's been wonderful to have some routine again - proper meal-times, nap-times and bed-times - hooray!!

I'll be updating soon about our trip and posting those pictures I promised, but if you could please keep us and our dear friends here - saved and unsaved - in your prayers, we would appreciate it so much. God has been working among the people here, and it's been wonderful seeing His hand reaching out and changing lives. But as anyone who has seen God work knows, when God is working, Satan is too. Please pray that we would know much of the preserving hand and grace of God.

Time for bed - I'll be back soon!

Happy Birthday, Lucas!!

Today is my brother Jeff and Marianne's littlest boy's 2nd birthday!! Take a look at those sweet dimples!!

Here he is learning how to skateboard just like his daddy and big brother:

A picture of his dear parents

The three kiddos - Jared, Gracia and Lucas - making funny faces!

These pictures and their captions aren't turning out right, sorry! I can't figure out how to change them on this computer I'm using. I'm of course realizing now that I don't have any updated family pics, or sibling pics, so I'll have to find someone to fix that for me!! =)

We so enjoyed our time with our families this summer! It's always wonderful to catch up with the adults, and get to know our nephews and neices better. Lukey was one of those sweet little ones we got to spend time with - he is so much fun! He and Vivian are just a few months apart in age, and it was fun seeing them interact. Next year will show some fun changes between them.

Lucas, it was so great to see you recently, and get some snuggles in with you! My verse for you is, "And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12) While you are still too young to understand the message of salvation yet, you are already learning from your parents, hearing the Bible being read and singing songs about the Bible and the Lord Jesus - about salvation! We pray that your life will be drastically changed some day, the day you accept that free gift of salvation!

Hope you have a wonderfully, Happy Birthday, little boy! Love from all the Woodfords! xo

Heading home

Our time here in Canada has flown by, and tomorrow we leave to start our trip home to Mexico. While not looking forward to the trip, necessarily, we are definitely all ready and excited to be at home again!

It has been wonderful to be here and spend time with family and friends who we see once a year (or less). The weather has been great, and this has been the best trip so far as behaviour, etc, for the girls is concerned. Probably the most difficult part of our trip has been lack of routine - so I'm grateful we'll soon be back to a schedule again!

Tomorrow we're heading to Cincinnati,Ohio, where we plan to visit the Creation Museum on Tuesday. Wednesday we head to Dallas, Texas, where we will be visiting friends I met in Chile 14 years ago. Then we plan to be home in Mexico on Friday, Lord willing.

I'm not looking forward to our final goodbyes here, so I'd appreciate your prayers for that, as well as safety as we travel. I'll update again likely when we get home, so Goodbye for now!

Happy Birthday, my Tim!!!

Happy Birthday to the most wonderful man in the world!! My sweet husband, Tim!

"for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord." (Act 11:24)

I am so thankful to have the husband I have! He is a godly man, a wonderful husband, and the best Daddy ever!! It amazes me still that the Lord would bless me so much by giving this special man to me!

Tim, thank you for your sincere desire to put the Lord first in your life, and to live for Him no matter where you are or what the cost. Thank you for loving me when I can be so unloveable, for encouraging me, and building me up. I'm so proud to be your helpmeet, and to be able to work with you, side-by-side.

I love you, my Tim, and hope you have the best birthday ever!!

How Great is our God!

"The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever.
He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.
For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust
."

Psalm 103:8-14

More pictures of Saskatchewan

We are now in Ontario, and enjoying spending time with my parents and brother and his family. My dad and Brian C just finished a four week gospel series in Midland on Sunday night, and a sister of a fellow from Midland, Evain, got saved during the meetings!! We also heard news last night from Hermosillo, MX, that Ansoni, the husband of Flor who was just baptised, got saved on Friday night. PRAISE THE LORD!!

Before writing about about our adventures here, I thought I would post the rest of the pics of our time there.

Here is Mika playing "Laura Ingalls" pioneer girl - she had lots of fun wearing her "farmer" dress and running around.
