Update, visitors, and some exciting news!

I'm not even going to go back to see how long it's been since I've updated.  So sorry!  I really have had hardly any interest in doing an update, although one reason was because I have something special to share, and I wasn't able to...until now!!

We bought a house!  It's been a bit of a process, but yesterday Tim signed the papers and it is official - we are so excited!  It's official that we own the house, And it's official that we're excited!!  =)  It's in a quiet, older area, about 15 minutes from where we live right now, down close to the centre of the city.  There is a beautiful, secure, grassy park, just a few blocks away, with a nice playground to play on and paths for biking and a fountain for splashing in.  Our current house has 3 bedrooms, and the new one has 4 plus an office.  It's an older house, and will need some work, but it's in relatively good condition.  It's main selling feature was a large (500 square meters or 5300 square feet) lot.  We had pretty much lost hope of ever having any sort of lot here, as it's pretty hard to come by, however, the Lord surprised us with it out of the blue!  Tim's had the key since last Thursday, so he has already been working there with a few guys.  He figures we should be able to move in by April.  We haven't gotten down there to get a good picture due to busyness here, but I'll post one as soon as we have one.

My last couple posts have been about marriage, and I've got a couple more posts coming, but thought I would post-pone them for a bit - likely until after the New Year begins.  Trev and Liz (my sister) left Saskatchewan today, and Lord willing, will be in Hermosillo on Saturday!!!  I can't wait!!

We've been exceedingly, exceedingly sick around here the last few weeks, and are just now getting over it.  Fever, cough, cold - everyone feeling really miserable!  I'm so glad it's almost over!

I don't have a ton of time, 'cause my bed with it's deliciously heated blanket is calling me from upstairs!! ;)  So, I'll just share these pics with a brief explanation.

The children's meeting in Tirocapes - held every Saturday morning.

Common sight of someone moving - it never fails to make me chuckle seeing how high they can get things to go.

Mika decorated Anna B's birthday cake

Didn't she do a super job!  I'm so proud of her!

This is when it was still warm here - brrrr, it's sure not now.  Cutie -pie Alisa!

Mika also made birthday (dunce) hats for everyone except herself...

...or Nathaniel, but he borrowed Duncan's!  ;)

Mika and Anna
Mika wanted to have a tea party - so she got everyone dressed up.

Shaelyn decided she would be the servant.  She made the meal, and served it.

Even Daddy got in on this tea party!

Nathaniel was there too, but he didn't get any tea!

Love these pics of his and his Daddy's hands.

Finally getting ready for Christmas.  I allowed them to start making snowflakes And decorate before December even came.  This is a first for me.
Making snowflakes

All six of our sweeties

Pretty snowflakes

Christmas Decorations!!

Daddy took four of his girls out for icecream!

Alisa loves shoes.  Doesn't matter if they match, or if they're on the correct feet! ;)

Kyla loves doing hair!

I love this one!

Sweet babies!

I believe she was saying, "Cheese"!

Duncan taught one of the last lessons in Tirocapes before the school year ended.  I believe this one was, The Good Samaritan.
There was a piƱata for the end of the year.

Everyone ready waiting!!
The girls had fun in and about the house one night.

We've received some Christmas boxes!  More came after these ones did!

Jesse and Emily K have moved down to Santiago where James and Nelly D are.  This was a combined "going away" party for them, as well as a baby shower.

Some who were there and enjoyed a meal together.

Ha ha - sour raspberry?  I love how each of our girls 'have' to put them on their fingers first to eat them!

We did this 750 piece puzzle last year as a family.  This year, Marika did about 98% of it, and finished it up yesterday.

This picture makes me really laugh.  Shaelyn was cold, so I told her to run upstairs and put more clothes on, and then she would be warm!  She has 3 pairs of shorts and 3 short-sleeved shirts on in this picture!  ;)  Don't worry, they are all supplied with warmer clothes now.  It's gotten down to 6 C at night already!

Our second last kiddo to get sick

And the last one!
Comforting one another in their misery.
I'm sure there's lots I'm missing, but without pics I can't remember!  Alisa is talking up a storm - repeating everyone's names and saying new words all the time.  We've taken her off of gluten and dairy right now due to some health issues that continue to be unresolved.  She's not really gaining any wait, and we're concerned.  Would appreciate your prayers for that!

School has been going well, and in good time.  We've got the next 2.5 weeks off, and we're all excited and happy for the break!

One last thing before I head to bed.  There have been several on my mind and heart recently who are far from the Lord.  They were once close to Him, but have chosen to go their own way right now.  I'm sure you can think of some one specifically right now too.  I was thinking about how much glory God would receive if these dear ones were restored to the Lord.  It would be Amazing, Spectacular, Wonderful, Precious - and that's just for me!  How great it would be to God's heart!  As I've been thinking about that, it's crossed my mind that if that's the case, Satan certainly is working over-time making sure that doesn't happen!  Would you please join with me in praying for those who are a long way off right now?

I've been a little discouraged, wanting these dear ones to come back, praying for them, yet seeing no desire to in their life.  Does it make any difference if I pray?  Does prayer change anything?  I've been enjoying Hebrews the last few days.  The Lord's been speaking to my heart as I've read each chapter.
"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen...And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him."  Hebrews 11:1,6
"The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."  James 5:16 KJV
I have to trust God's will is best. That He truly is all that He says He is, and can do all He says He can.  I'm thankful for my God, Who is the great I AM!  We rightly put our faith and trust in Him!
