Cabin Vacation 2017

Hello there!  In August, we were blessed to go back to the same cabin we rented last fall.  It is up in the mountains past Phoenix, so the weather is cooler, there is no WiFi, and we got to enjoy just each other for 6 days and 5 nights.  It was such a relaxing time away!  We read books, played games, hiked, watched movies, fished, and the kiddos swam and explored in the creek, catching tons of crayfish again.

Love this crew!

One of my favourite pics of the week - Shaelyn  and Vivian on a log, floating in the creek.

Well, I said all by ourselves, but actually, the day we drove in, we saw a lot of cattle - on the road, in fields, and all over the place.  We hadn't seen any the year before.  On our last night there, the owner called us to let us know there apparently were cattle everywhere, even on the property at times, and to be careful.  Having already tried to chase some steers off, and almost getting run over by them, we were well aware at that point.  They generally just ran off when we came near, but it was a little frustrating with them around this time.

Coming back from an early morning fishing trip

Fish fry - SO yummy!

Star gazing - even saw some shooting stars!

Hiking - it was so beautiful!  We unfortunately never were around anyone else so we could get a family picture.

Who Are those crazies?

Blackberry bushes.  We were a little early, and only a few were ripe

It was such a wonderful and special week!  So thankful for the time to just hang out and be together without any distractions.
